Dark Life
[ Dark Life Falls, Kat ( Author ) ] { Paperback } 2011 - Kat Falls

I read this book 3 years ago but I can still remember the plot; usually, if you're a book devourer, your memory of a book becomes spotty. But that's not the case with this book! I think it's because of the overwhelming excitement and genuine love that I felt while reading this book. I loved Ty; he couldn't have been as perfect. I felt immense sadness when I finished this book. And I literally screamed when I realized there was a sequel; I'm aching to be back in the company of Ty and Gemma.

Born at Midnight
Born at Midnight - C.C. Hunter

I haven't been reading for leisure lately. Lots of homework and obligations now that I'm a Junior in high school. Reading just didn't feel fun anymore. Fortunately, my amazing book-nerd friend threw this paperback novel at me a week ago. And not wanting to disappoint her and trusting her good tastes, I picked up and began to read this book one night. And I was hooked, "line and sinker" they would say. I would read it whenever I had a reprieve, right after I finished classwork in class, while I was eating my dinner... Not even my iPhone could compete with this beautifully written YA novel. The language was a little too simplistic for my taste but otherwise, it's perfect. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Goddess of the Sea
Goddess of the Sea - P.C. Cast

I read this book because of a recommendation from a friend who wanted me to get into that "genre." It was an entertaining read that emphasizes the Divine Feminine, perhaps a bit to frequently. The female character is strong and likeable and inevitably, as it is in this genre, falls in love with a sexy male "fish." The book doesn't have many plot twists; it is very predictable. But what set it apart from other books, was the nice voice and the twist on the story of The Little Mermaid (this one's better).

Overall, it was a nice introduction into the genre of erotic romance.
